Discipleship Groups (The Journey)
The Journey is a tool that will provide participants with real, meaningful, life-change through something called life-on-life missional discipleship. Life-on-Life missional discipleship is a process for transferring spiritual life from one person (a Journey group leader) to another (a Journey group member) in the context of small groups of 5-8 people (a Journey group). Life-on-Life missional discipleship is:
- Having a suitable life – a mature and equipped follower of Christ
- Being intentional about imparting that life to others – the Journey group leader is making a commitment to each member that she/he will invest his/her life into yours, that has your spiritual growth as the focus
- Spending enough time doing the right things to impart life so that the recipient will learn to impart it as well – Journey groups meet weekly for 9 months, members sign a contract and the end goal is that all Journey group members will learn how, and be motivated to
impart their life product as well.
The growth of the Journey Ministry at CCC will be planned and will progress at a rate that allows Journey group leaders, co-leaders and members to successfully impart their life to others. This will take time, but the leadership at CCC desires that all members who want to participate in a Journey Group will have an opportunity.
