Equip Classes

Our Equip classes (think Sunday school) run in four 7- or 8-week "quarters" from September through May on Sunday mornings at 9:00am. Our first quarter starts on September 13. Equipping God's people is an essential component of Christ Community's three-fold mission, and we are excited for the ways God will use these classes to deepen our faith, sharpen our understanding, and send us out into the world with His love and truth.

What Equip classes are offered?

Adults

The following classes will be offered for adults:

Teach Us to Worship
Every Sunday, the Lord calls us to come to His throne and give Him praise. In this class, we will be walking through the foundation of Christian worship and the elements of the worship service. This class helps us understand why we come to the Lord to worship, what the significance of worship is for the life of the believer, and how we worship the Lord together.
A Study of Hebrews
No other book in Scripture is quite like the book of Hebrews. Heretics tried to keep it out of the Bible. How come? No other book in Scripture mentions the word “faith” more than Hebrews. Why? Hebrews is full of Jesus in His three offices. Do they still matter? What are we to make of those warning passages? Come and find out.
Discover Christ Community
This is our semi-annual membership class for anyone interested in learning more about what we believe as a church. We walk through our five membership questions, along with a few particulars of Reformed belief and covenant theology. Whether you want to become a member or would like to learn a bit more about Christ Community Church, we'd love to have you join us!

Students (6th through 12th grade)

This year, students will be continuing with their systematic theology curriculum.

Systematics III: The Holy Spirit
Middle and high schoolers will spend the first three quarters learning about the Holy Spirit, digging deeper into some rich questions: Who is the Spirit? What does the Spirit do? Why does the Holy Spirit matter in our lives as Christians?
Split Class in Quarter 4
The final 8-week quarter will be split, with high schoolers joining an intergenerational Equip class with adults, and middle schoolers in their own class. Check back for more details in the new year!

Kids (2s through 5th grade)

Kids will join one of the following classes, based on their age:

2's and 3's
Truth 78's A Sure Foundation: His Praiseworthy Deeds. Designed to teach children simple truth statements and Bible stories that through repetition they begin to learn and understand our great God and His love for them.
Preschool - 5th Grade
Show Me Jesus. A Bible-based, Christ-centered curriculum that teaches the unfolding story of redemption from Genesis to Revelation and builds on God’s truth in age-appropriate ways
- Preschool & Kindergarten — God Leads His People: God's thrilling rescue of Israel from Egypt and how the Old Testament points to the Savior.
- 1st & 2nd Grade — Obeying God: Stories about the prophets and kings.
- 3rd - 5th Grade — God's Grace in the Law: Applying the Ten Commandments—a study in Exodus.
